This calendar uses double-revolving combinations of the Ten Celestial Stems and the Twelve Terrestrial Branches to designate years. Every 60-year is a full cycle, which is called a jia-zi, for the first stem and first branch. The Twelve Terrestrial Branches also have animal representations: zi (rat), chou (ox), yin (tiger), mao (hare), chen (dragon), si (snake), wu
(horse), wei (goat), shen (monkey), you (cock),xu (dog) and hai (boar). The year of 1980 is the Gengshen year, the Year of monkey. The person born in this year was born under monkey sign.
This stamp uses gold monkey by famous painter Huang Yongyu as subject matter.
