I have pulled out a spectacular group of UNUSUAL FIRST DAY COVERS WITH SELDOM SEEN Cachets from the archives, seldom seen and I think you will find them innovative.
Today I am offering a
wonderful group of first day covers. If you don't see the one that you are looking for either check with me or check back as a seller and see what new covers I have listed.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with what a first day cover is... A first day cover is an envelope with a stamp cancelled by the postal authority on the First day that the stamp is available for sale to the public. This usually ocurrs only in one city the designated first day of issue city, the stamp is available for sale in other cities on the day after the first day. A stamp cancelled in a city other than the first day of issue city is considered an unofficial firs day of issue cancellation. The design on the envelope is called a "cachet", these are produced by various private cachetmakers and may be printed, painted, handcolored etc..
The cover being offered is for the 2006 Judy Garland - Bible Verse - Wile Cachet Design #5 - Bible Verse Romans 6:19 - a ploy on her addictions (combination with drug abuse stamp) - Only 14 Made!
